How Illumina came to life

As a parent, Nadia understood the challenge of finding the right support for her child and knowing where to begin. That experience led her to build a team of educators at Illumina to support every part of a child's learning journey. Together, they help parents access the right educational resources, build children's confidence and create a clear roadmap towards academic and personal success.

Today, Illumina is built around one simple belief: One Student is One Student. No two children are the same, and their support shouldn't be either.

Nadia's background

Nadia's perspective on learning is anything but conventional, and that's exactly its strength. Her career has spanned corporate leadership, training, coaching and mentoring, including years spent developing leadership programmes and helping educators become better versions of themselves and understand their learners more deeply.

She was previously head of School Is Easy Dubai, the city's branch of the international tutoring service, where she saw first-hand how much families benefit from coordinated, individual support.

Earlier in her career, she served as a Combat Engineer and Senior Commander with the Canadian Armed Forces, where teaching and supporting others helped shape her approach to education.

Nadia's military service shaped her belief that leadership begins with understanding the people you support. Teaching during that time also showed her that people take in information differently. Today, that perspective, together with her experience as a parent, informs an approach built around each child's strengths, needs and potential.
